Llwyn Glas sits in about 6 acres of woodland (mostly to the sides and above the house on the hillside). The woods are a lovely mix of beech, hazel, larch, cedar, ash, oak and various conifers.
I think the woods were planted many years ago and while some areas are quite open, others are a bit tangled. Over the coming years I'll be trying to restore and clean them up. I've recently made a path that runs from behind the barn, through the woods - be careful crossing the kissing bridge (consensual kissing only π)
You're welcome to wander wherever you want - just be aware that:
a) it's steep in places
b) there are plenty of things to trip over
c) there are two drainage pools (to the north of the Annexe) that are out of bounds - while drowning is unlikely, if you fall in, the stink will be with you for days.
d) those good people at NRW have mandated that the larch has had to be felled (there is a fungal disease spreading through the country). That means there is a lot of downed trees at the very top of the site - just be careful around these and make sure children don't play on or near them.
With all that said, enjoy them... and see if you can spot the Goshawk nest π
